Santiago is a unique tourist, university, and living enclave; it is a compact city and easy to walk around (we won't say it's flat, but its slopes are neither the Angliru nor the Kilimanjaro). It is such that, wherever you are, you will reach the destination you want in 10 minutes: from the historic area of the city (here we call it the "old town") to the most modern area (let's call it "Ensanche" or "new area"), from the university campus to the Alameda, from Plaza de Galicia to Plaza Roja... everything is 10 vertiginous minutes away. Zero stress! Maybe that's the secret of local friendliness...
But if you like nature, then you can make those trips from park to park, effortlessly, as Santiago is a city that fluidly connects green spaces.
